Re: NOHOST Plaguing Me
Possibly related... hard to know for sure. MAYBE you were lacking a PHP module that Sphider uses and the library installed it? Without comparing before and after results of phpinfo() query, that would be pure conjecture. (Seeing the phpinfo() results WOULD have been one of my next steps.) The import...

Re: NOHOST Plaguing Me
I am stumped as well! Wild guess, your web server "hiccupped" at just the "right" moment?
But I will accept that it is working. If, for some reason, it ceases to work, let me know.

Re: NOHOST Plaguing Me
I can't duplicate the NOHOST condition (as you seem to get it), but I know the cause is the inability on your side to contact https://gregwalsch.com. To try to get to the bottom of WHY, copy and run this script and let me know the results: <?php $host = "gregwalsh.com"; $target = "ssl...

Re: NOHOST Plaguing Me
This is just an initial response.... By using "https://gregwalsh.com/", I was able to index your site with no problem. I retrieved 19 pages (including a pdf file), 27 images, and got 1614 unique keywords. There was a single redirect, but from experience I know that was normal for that url....

Re: Trouble installing
Create a PHP script. Although the name doesn't really matter, I suggest "info.php." It will contain the following code: <?php phpinfo(); ?> Load this to your server and run it from a browser. It will provide details on your PHP installation. Scroll down through the list of installed PHP mo...

Re: Fulltxt field
Sphider does remove multiple white space. It also tries to preserve the original page as much as possible. Since Sphider is open source, it is possible to edit out multiple occurrences of "\r\n". This would be done in spiderfuncs.php. EDIT: It also happens to be that "\r\n" is no...

Re: First impressions - Am I missing something?
Sphider Pro I have no experience with. Development seems to have stopped. Sphider Plus I have looked at. It is much more full featured than the original Sphider. Since development on the original Sphider was suspended, I took over to keep it running in a modern environment. Sphider was intended as a...

Re: search.php on line 446 generating not permitted warning
Curious. My installation does have the gd module installed, but I don't THINK I use any of its functions. Of course, the only way I could know that for sure is to disable it and see if any errors pop up. Sphider is able to index and search images without Imagick, but there would be no way to calcula...
