as expected too much procedure and reepository differences. I seem to be getting further away from it functioning right then getting it right. Thanks for the assistance I think i will keep trying for another couple of days then punt.

i can no longer get sphider to recognize ANY of the 4 options.

OK. ws able to correct this problem. Issue I was having was that my version of php (7,4.20). did not have iconv() so whole process was killed..

I changed permission and I am apparently indexing. Thanks for all your hard work. Nice to have this nice tool back

Ok. did it again made sure I cut and pasted the credentials and It worked to a point.. Must have been another attack of fat fimgers. Who can say since I cant see the password. Love that security. they can attached a pipe line but ... ok that aside. I got logged on and try to index and got this respo...

Well changing to semi solved the new error but still no log on success. No sig of the new echo command either
